Article Processing Charges (APC) Policy

The World Journal of Future Technologies in Computer Science and Engineering (WJFTCSE) follows a transparent and ethical Article Processing Charge (APC) policy to support the publication of high-quality Open Access scholarly research. The APC enables the journal to maintain rigorous editorial standards, administer independent peer review, publish accepted manuscripts online, preserve published content, and ensure global accessibility without subscription barriers.

Authors are charged an APC only after their manuscript has successfully completed the editorial and peer review process and has been formally accepted for publication. There are no submission fees, no manuscript handling charges before acceptance, and no fees for the peer review process.

1. Article Processing Charge (APC)

The standard Article Processing Charge for accepted manuscripts is:

US $90.00 (Ninety United States Dollars) per accepted article.

The APC is applicable only after final editorial acceptance and before publication.

2. What the APC Covers

The Article Processing Charge contributes toward the operational costs associated with scholarly publishing and supports the following services:

  • Editorial administration and manuscript management.
  • Initial technical screening and editorial assessment.
  • Independent peer review coordination.
  • Reviewer management and editorial correspondence.
  • Professional copyediting and language quality review (where applicable).
  • Typesetting, formatting, and layout preparation.
  • Assignment and maintenance of publication metadata.
  • Online publication and website hosting.
  • Digital preservation and long-term archiving.
  • Website maintenance and technical infrastructure.
  • Open Access dissemination without subscription barriers.
  • Permanent online availability of published articles.
  • Administrative support for publication and indexing preparation.

The APC supports publication services only and does not represent payment for acceptance or publication decisions.

3. APC Transparency

WJFTCSE is committed to complete transparency regarding publication charges. The APC is clearly communicated to authors through the journal website and official editorial communications.

The journal follows the following principles:

  • No hidden publication fees.
  • No submission charges.
  • No peer review charges.
  • No payment is requested before editorial acceptance.
  • Editorial decisions are completely independent of APC payments.
  • Payment of the APC does not guarantee publication.

Acceptance decisions are based solely upon scientific quality, originality, technical merit, ethical compliance, relevance to the journal scope, and reviewer recommendations.

4. Editorial Independence

Editorial evaluation and peer review are conducted independently of financial considerations. Editors, reviewers, and members of the Editorial Board are not influenced by APC payments when making publication decisions.

The acceptance, revision, or rejection of a manuscript depends entirely upon:

  • Scientific originality.
  • Research quality.
  • Methodological soundness.
  • Technical contribution.
  • Ethical compliance.
  • Reviewer recommendations.
  • Editorial judgment.

Payment of the APC has no influence whatsoever on the editorial outcome.

5. Payment Schedule

The APC becomes payable only after the manuscript has received formal acceptance for publication.

Authors will receive an official acceptance notification together with payment instructions. Publication processing begins after confirmation of APC payment unless a waiver or special arrangement has been approved by the Editorial Office.

No invoice is issued before manuscript acceptance.

6. Accepted Payment Methods

Authors may complete APC payment using one of the payment methods approved by the publisher, including:

  • International bank transfer.
  • Online payment gateway (where available).
  • Credit or debit card.
  • Institutional payment.
  • Official invoice-based payment for universities or research organizations.

Detailed payment instructions are communicated individually after manuscript acceptance.

7. APC Waiver and Discount Policy

WJFTCSE is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing. Authors who experience genuine financial hardship may request consideration for a partial or full APC waiver.

Waiver requests may be considered in circumstances including, but not limited to:

  • Researchers from low-income or lower-middle-income countries.
  • Students and early-career researchers with limited research funding.
  • Independent researchers without institutional financial support.
  • Special issues approved by the Editorial Board.
  • Exceptional academic circumstances determined by the Publisher.

Waiver applications should be submitted before or during the editorial process and will be evaluated individually. Approval of a waiver is entirely at the discretion of the Editorial Office and Publisher.

8. Refund Policy

Once an article has been formally published, the APC is generally non-refundable because publication services have already been completed.

Refund requests may be considered only under exceptional circumstances, such as:

  • Duplicate payment.
  • Administrative or technical payment errors.
  • Publisher-related processing issues.

If an author voluntarily withdraws an accepted manuscript after substantial editorial production work has commenced, the Publisher may retain part or all of the APC to recover publication-related costs already incurred.

Each refund request is evaluated individually by the Publisher.

9. Institutional Support and Sponsorship

WJFTCSE welcomes collaborations with universities, research institutions, libraries, academic societies, government organizations, funding agencies, and professional associations that wish to support scholarly publishing through institutional APC sponsorships or publication agreements.

Such collaborations may assist eligible researchers in publishing their work under mutually agreed institutional arrangements.

10. Periodic Review of APC Policy

The Article Processing Charge Policy is reviewed periodically by the Publisher to ensure transparency, fairness, sustainability, and alignment with evolving scholarly publishing practices. Any revisions to APC rates or payment procedures will be announced through the journal website prior to implementation and will not affect manuscripts already under editorial consideration unless explicitly communicated.
